What can and can’t we see? (read this)

✅ Nothing is kept by default. Every conversation evaporates — you'll see a countdown. Only turns you tap Keep are saved (encrypted on your device; the server holds only ciphertext).
✅ Grok never learns who you are: it sees a random number (e.g. #7402) and your masked terms.
⚠️ Typing: to answer, Grok reads your (masked) words for that instant — relayed to xAI, never stored, never logged. Anonymisation hides who you are, not what you said.
⚠️ Live voice: your actual audio reaches xAI (a voiceprint is biometric). No identity is sent, nothing is stored, and it disconnects during silence so it only hears you while you talk.

Grok only ever sees this number. It stays the same so your chats feel consistent — but you can mint a fresh identity anytime. Your history is yours and comes with you; Grok just meets a new stranger, and the old number goes silent forever.
